Burn-Off Oven Applications
The number of markets that Steelman Industries can serve seems limitless. In the following paragraphs, we have addressed four industries that we serve most often, the coatings market, fibers industry, electric motor repair, and plastics processing. If you do not find your application or industry addressed here and still have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Coatings Market
Steelman's burn-off ovens provide safe, fast, thorough cleaning. Clean hooks and racks facilitate the quality coating process. Improve powder transfer efficiency by cleaning hooks and fixtures regularly. Rejects can be reclaimed, without damage, therefore, saving you money. Steelman ovens also adjust to the amount of coating to be cleaned; heavily coated hooks or lightly coated rejects can be cleaned with no guesswork. This avoids costly over burns and under burns.
Fibers Industry
Steelman burn-off ovens clean spinnerets in a thorough, environmentally safe manner. There are no under-burns or over-burns because of the patented Automatic Process Control (APC). Unlike other brands, water is introduced to the load only when excessive combustible vapors are detected. This minimizes flash rusting.
Electric Motor Repair
Use Steelman burn-off ovens to safely decompose varnishes & epoxies from stators & rotors. Steelman uses patented processes that ensure that your parts are cleaned without being damaged. For example, to protect against core loss, Steelman offers the radial Venturi diffuser, part temperature control package, and uses the EASA Core Iron Study as a guide to setting up operating temperatures. The Venturi Diffuser cools and distributes the heat in a manner that protects your customer's valuable cores from over heating. Part Temperature Control is standard on all E model ovens and actually measures the temperature at the core iron. EASA recommends that stator temperatures do not exceed 800° in order to prevent damage to the core. A part temperature controller will assure that the stator will not be damaged by the varnish burning the core.
Plastics Processing
Steelman's patented technologies are a must for cleaning dies, molds, breaker plates, extruder screws, and other expensive production tooling. Top-Down Heating introduces heat above the products, unlike competitor ovens, which are bottom fired. In Bottom fired ovens, tooling is exposed directly to 1400° F plus temperatures and combustion gases. Steelman's patented radial Venturi Diffuser further protects valuable tooling by mixing oven atmospheric gases with combustion gases prior to part contact. Rate of Change technology eliminates unnecessary moisture being added to each cycle minimizing flash rust. Automatic process control eliminates operator input of time & temperature. The Steelman oven automatically adjusts to the mass of the tooling that is being cleaned.
